Generation of Computer

 FIRST GENERATION (1945-1955)

o   It had been used vacuum tube technology which makes a computer possible to do calculation.

o   In this generation computers are used for scientific application and programming was done in machine level languages like IBM 701, ENIAC etc.

Ø  SECOND GENERATION (1955-1964)

o  The second generation of this computer used transistor technology which made the size of the computer a little concise and faster.

o  In this generation the computer is used for scientific application and commercial appli
cation.

o  Programming was done in high level programming languages such as IBM 7030, Henwell 400 etc.

Ø  THIRD GENERATION (1964-1974)

o   In the third generation of computer .it had been used integrated circuits which made this faster comparatively and reliable as well.

o   In this generation computer are used for scientific commercial and interactive online application.

o   Programming was done in high level programming languages such as COBOL, BASIC etc.

Ø  FOURTH GENERATION (1975-1989)

o   In this generation of computers, there had been used microprocessors inside to work far better comparatively.

o   This is the most reliable among and very short in size to be portable anywhere you want.

o   In this generation computers are used for scientific, commercial, interactive online application and network application.

o   Programming was done in level programming languages such as IBM PC etc.

Ø  FIFTH GENERATION (1989-till date)

o   This is the generation of computers where computers are assigned automatic intelligence.

o   They use artificial intelligence where they will use their own IQ too to solve a problem at end.

o   In this generation computers are used for scientific, commercial, integrative, online application multimedia and network application.

o   Programming was done in high level programming languages such as C#, Java, python etc.
